Zelensky asks Ukrainians to limit energy use as WHO says millions at risk – BBC News

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has asked his country to try and limit its use of energy after what he said has been "systematic damage" from Russia.

Half of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure is either damaged or destroyed, and 10 million are currently without power, said Dr Hans Henri P Kluge, World Health Organization (WHO) regional director for Europe.

The lives of millions will be under threat in Ukraine this winter, the WHO has said, as temperatures are predicted to plummet as low as -20C (-4F) in some areas.
