UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and several other European leaders will join Ukraine’s President Zelensky for a meeting with US President Trump at the White House on Monday.
Germany’s Friedrich Merz, France’s Emmanuel Macron and the European Commission’s Ursula von der Leyen have all announced that they will be attending.
The meeting between Zelensky and Trump comes after talks between the US and Russian presidents failed to reach a deal on ending the Ukraine war.
Following his meeting with Putin in Alaska on Friday, Trump had a major shift in position. He wants to bypass a ceasefire in Ukraine and move directly to a permanent peace agreement.
