Afghanistan families destined for UK stuck in Pakistan hotels – BBC Newsnight

These are the Afghan families destined for Britain, but stuck in hotels in Pakistan.

More than 1,000 people from Afghanistan, including 500 children, are unable to leave their hotels after being granted eligibility to settle in the UK by the Ministry of Defence because they worked as interpreters with British Forces.

But if they leave the hotel premises, they risk arrest and deportation back to Afghanistan, as their Pakistani visas have expired.

Newsnight’s International Correspondent Nawal Al-Maghafi reports.
