Residents in the Indian capital Delhi have been told not to go out over the weekend unless is for essential needs such a buying food or medicine.
It’s part of an effort to curb sharply rising Covid cases, driven by the Omicron variant, in the densely populated city.
There is not yet clarity about what this means for establishments that reopen at weekends such as restaurants or non-essential shops.
