England has joined the likes of France, Spain, South Korea, Israel and the US in requiring Covid testing for passengers travelling from China.
It follows calls from the World Health Organization for China to provide more accurate data on Covid infections and deaths.
China has seen a sharp rise in cases after Beijing abandoned its zero-Covid policy.
The Chinese government is reporting about 5,000 cases a day, but analysts say such numbers are vastly undercounted – and the daily caseload may be closer to one million.
